Director | William Relton
William Relton has a background as an actor, but in the last 25 years he has directed opera productions all around Europe. In Sweden he has, in addition to directing Otello at Opera på Skäret in 2014, worked at Drottningholms Slottsteater, Läckö Slottsteater and Vadstena-Akademien. William Relton has directed operas such as The Barber of Seville, La Bohème, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Turandot and Les Pêcheurs de Perles. He has also teached at opera schools in England and Scandinavia, in Stockholm and Gothenburg amongst others.

Conductor | Michael Balke
Michael Balke has many years of experience as a conductor at Magdeburg Opera. There, he has conducted operas such as Elektra, Der Rosenkavalier, Don Carlo, The Marriage of Figaro, The Barber of Seville, Maria Stuart, Hansel and Gretel, and other great pieces from the opera history. He is often hired by other opera houses all over the world and has, amongst other things, conducted The Merry Widow and Madama Butterfly in Tokyo. In 2016 he conducted Svenska Kammarorkestern in The Flying Dutchman at Opera på Skäret. In the last years he has also conducted concerts in Copenhagen, Århus, St Gallen and Palermo.

Set designer | Sven Östberg
Sven Östberg has been the set designer for most of Opera på Skäret’s productions: Rigoletto 2006, Aida 2007, The Bailiffs & the beer 2007 and 2009, Il Tabarro & Pagliacci 2009, the child opera The Magic Flute – a winter’s tale 2009, Carmen 2011, Lucia di Lammermoor 2012, The Barber of Seville 2013, La Traviata 2015, The Flying Dutchman 2016 and Madama Butterfly 2017. He has been a director, revue writer and a variety show director. He has also worked with the development of the entertainment at the theme park Liseberg and educated actors at Wendelsbergs folkhögskola.

Costume designer | Sigyn Stenqvist
Sigyn Stenqvist is a set designer, costume designer and decor painter. After finishing her education in London in 1999, she worked with theaters and dance companies in UK, Denmark and Hongkong during a ten year period. Thereafter she has worked in Sweden with Riksteatern, Cirkus Cirkör, Teater 3, different region theaters and other groups. She has a wide experience as a designer within everything from theater and contemporary circus to dance, opera and advertising. She has also worked with designing storefront windows and has been a guest lecturer within costume/performance.

Costume design | Caroline Romare
Caroline Romare is a set designer, costume designer and exhibition designer, educated by Dramatiska Institutet. Caroline has worked in theaters all over Sweden, such as Malmö Stadsteater, Riksteatern, Teater Västernorrland and Parkteatern. She has a wide experience from everything from small shows to gigantic projects as the Bollywood Opera in Botkyrka. Caroline has also been the project manager and designer of Bergrummet – Stockholms new toy and comic book museum which was opened in the fall of 2017. She is the author of the book ”Siden, sammet, trasa…” which evolves around recycling.  

Lighting design | Kevin Wyn-Jones
Kevin Wyn-Jones from the UK was the lighting manager at Folkoperan in Stockholm between 1998 and 2004. Meanwhile he worked with the lighting design of other theatres and opera houses in Sweden and around Europe, such as the Bolshoi theatre in Moscow and the National opera of Latvia in Riga. He has worked on productions of CarmenThe Flying DutchmanTosca and Lady Macbeth. Here at Opera på Skäret, he has been responsible for the lighting during the productions of Lucia di Lammermoor 2012, The Barber of Seville 2013, La Traviata 2015, The Flying Dutchman 2016 and Madama Butterfly 2017.

Mask och peruk | Robin Karlsson
Robin Karlsson is a highly sought make-up artist, costume- and wig designer for operas and theatres around Sweden. He has been responslible for the make-up and wig departments at the royal theatres in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Robin Karlsson has directed, done scenography and designed costumes for many productions in Sweden. He has also managed Arbisteatern in Norrköping, where he with great success directed the musicals Evita and Sugar, along side the operetto The Merry Widow by Lehár. This summer he is returning to Opera på Skäret where he previously has worked with the productions of Tosca 2008, Lucia di Lammermoor 2012, La Traviata 2015, The Flying Dutchman 2016 and Madama Butterfly 2017.

Producent | Anna-Carin Niclasson
Anna-Carin Niclasson is an opera singer and has studied at Musikhögskolan and Operastudio 67. She has worked at Stora Teatern in Gothenburg and Göteborgsoperan and has teached singing and dancing at Kulturama. As a singer, Anna-Carin has played roles like Mimi in La Bohème, Violetta in La Traviata and Adina in The Elexir of Love (Elisir d’amore). She has been the producer for Opera på Skäret since 2008, producing Tosca, Il tabarro, Pagliacci, La Bohème, Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, The Barber of Seville, Otello, La Traviata, The Flying Dutchman, Madama Butterfly and the children’s production The Magic Flute – a winter tale.
